Who I am

My name is Daniel and I’ve been a Pokemon card collector for four years

Like a lot of people, I started collecting around the 2003 – 2010 era, from elementary to middle school. I thought Pokemon was cool, and I enjoyed trading with friend and showing people what I had. At the time my collection was mostly made up of cards I took from my brother’s binder when he wasn’t looking. By the time I was in middle school, I was starting to think Pokemon was for kids and I was too old to take part in it, so I stopped collecting.

I got back into collecting in 2021 because a friend of mine was into it. He was starting to collect and sell some of his cards, and I offered to sell him my childhood collection. While there wasn’t much of note, it was cool to see someone’s interest in what I thought were basic cards. I started to dip my toes into collecting, going after basic V and EX cards I would find online. Fast forward four years, and I’m always hunting for big modern chase cards, and cool vintage cards I used to have!

Why TCG Connect?

Something I grew to love in the hobby is the community. For the most part, the people I meet in this hobby are always wonderful collectors who really care about what they do. I’ve seen so many people help each other finish collections or look for specific cards, make trades just to help others out, and awesome friendships form from the shared interest of card collecting. I’ve seen families get into collecting together, parents show real interest in their children’s collections. I love the community aspect of the hobby and want to help make it grow even further. I decided to make one easy to access place where everyone can gather and learn more about the hobby, the people, and the events!
